HITEC 2011 was an exciting time for us at Merchant Link.  We had a great time connecting with our friends, customers and partners at the show.  We were featured as a speaker at the PCI Bootcamp and we made several major announcements.  Coalfire validated of our point-to-point encryption and tokenization solution noting that it significantly reduced PCI DSS scope for merchants and the Georgia Center at the University of Georgia announced its implementation of our TransactionShield solution.

In the U.S. military, the concept of “boot camp” brings to mind very physical and vigorous training that transforms the average citizen into a fully developed soldier who is combat ready.  For the hospitality sector, there is a similar war happening:  we have aggressive hackers trying to steal credit card data and we need to be fully trained in how to best serve and protect our guests.

Recognizing the need to get the hospitality industry talking about PCI compliance, the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) PCI Compliance Roundtable is hosting two sessions during HITEC 2011 (Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference). The PCI Compliance Boot Camp, part of the HITEC education program, and the HFTP PCI Compliance Roundtable Update, a special meeting open to everyone, will both be held on Monday, June 20 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.
